SKK Migas completes evaluation of Kenanga field POD

Upstream authority has completed evaluation of the first plan of development (POD-1) of North West Kenanga field in Batanghari block, Jambi Province.

SKK Migas Head of Formality and Public Relations Division, Wisnu Prabawa Tahar said recently that the POD has been submitted to Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for approval. No further details were provided.

Chinese firm CNOOC Ltd, through CNOOC Batanghari Ltd owns 87 percent of Batanghari block, with the remainder held by PT Gregory Gas Perkasa.

In February 2013, the firm had drilled four wells, namely Kenanga 1, Matahari 1, Kenanga 2 and Kenanga 3. All the wells were dry, except for Kenanga 1, where discovery was made at carbonate basement.
