Upstream authority SKK Migas said it has been informed by Genting Oil that the latter would submit the plan of development (PoD) for the Kasuri block in West Papua in February of 2014.

SKK Migas has also been ascertained by the Malaysian oil and gas firm that it would not delay the drilling program at the Asap-3 appraisal well in the Kasuri block although one of its sub-contractors is ?problematic.?

?Yesterday, I met with the CEO of Genting Oil, and he explained to SKK Migas that Genting remains committed to complete the drilling program. This drilling program is important as the basis for the PoD to be proposed in February of 2014,? Elan Biantoro, Head of Public Relations at SKK Migas, to Petromindo.com Tuesday.

Elan told this portal on October 3 that Genting may delay the submission of its PoD for the Kasuri block due to protest from local community and underperforming rig.

Elsewhere, Elan said that SKK Migas is confident that Genting will complete the entire exploration activities at the block including studying the options on the commercialization of the gas from the Kasuri block.

?There are plenty of options. There is an option for the gas to be delivered to support fertilizer plant in Papua. There is also an option for cooperation with the Tangguh LNG. All are being assessed,? he said. (Godang)
