Upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas is hopeful that the country?s oil lifting target this year of 820,000 bpd as set in the revised 2016 State Budget can be achieved, as the lifting per December 17 has reached 821,000 bpd, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The initial 2016 State Budget set the oil lifting target at 830,000 bpd, but was then revised to 820,000 bpd due to the weak oil price environment and other factors hampering production.

The paper quoted SKK Migas Chairman Amien Sunaryadi as saying that with the oil lifting performance so far, he expected the 2016 State Budget oil lifting target can be realized. ?We hope that from tomorrow until December 31, there will be nothing happen (that can hamper oil production activities),? he said.

Amien said that SKK Migas has set an oil lifting target of 825,000 bpd next year, higher than the 815,000 bpd target set by the government in the 2017 State Budget. He, however, did not explain how the lifting target next year could be achieved. The budget sets gas lifting target for next year at 1,150 boepd.(*)
