Upstream authority SKK Migas is working with the East Tanjung Jabung regency administration in an effort to get the seal off on 14 oil and gas wells in Jabung block, Jambi, which are managed by PetroChina International (Jabung) Ltd, lifted soon.

"We are still waiting for the good news from the regency government," Secretary of SKK Migas, Gde Pradnyana, told Petromindo.com on Monday.

He said that last week SKK Migas has met with the regency. After the meeting, as requested by the regency secretary, SKK Migas sent a letter to the regency government, on which it provides responses to some of the regency government's requests and queries, with regard to allocation of the produced gas, CSR, and others.

"In return, we request the regency government to lift the seal-off to ensure safety and continuity of operations," said Gde, hoping that the seal-off could be lifted later this month.

As previously reported, the East Tanjung Jabung regency administration sealed off the 14 wells on May 24 as it claimed that PetroChina has yet to obtain the necessary location permit for the wells from the local administration.
