SKK Migas plans workshop to increase oil output

Upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas plans to hold a workshop at the end of March with all oil and gas contractors operating in the country in a bid to seek ways to increase oil and gas production.

?What we?ll discuss later is strategy to increase production at each (oil and gas) fields,? SKK Migas Deputy Chairman M. I. Zikrullah said on Monday.

Based on the contractors? 2017 work program and budget, the country?s oil output this year is estimated at 808,000 bopd, lower compared to the 815,000 bopd target set in the 2017 State Budget, or 825,000 bopd set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Zikrullah said that in the workshop, SKK Migas will identify which fields whose production can still be increased, what technology is being utilized, and what technology is available to increase production.

?The results of the workshop will become the basis to revise the WP&B 2017,? he said.
