SKK Migas promotes use of domestic products in upstream sector

Upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, in cooperation with the Indonesian Iron & Steel Association, held last week a workshop in Batam, Riau Islands Province, to promote the use of domestic steel and pipe products, as well as domestic fabrication facilities in upstream oil and gas projects.

SKK Migas said in a statement on Monday that the workshop was aimed at triggering interaction between domestic steel and pipe producers, and upstream players including oil and gas contractors, shipyards, fabricators, and EPC and FEED contractors.

SKK Migas said that the workshop forms part of the implementation of the new guideline on the procurement of goods and services in the upstream sector (PTK 007) introduced by the regulator in the middle of this year, which among others requires the use of domestic goods and services in the sector.
