SKK Migas selects 11 PSC contractors to receive awards

Upstream authority SKK Migas has selected 11 production sharing contractors to receive awards for their achievements so far in their exploration activities this year.

SKK Migas Chairman Rudi Rubiandini said during a ceremony to present the awards in Jakarta on Wednesday that five of the 11 contractors got awards under the category of gold, while the other six contractors got awards under the category of green.

He noted that the 11 contractors were selected from the total 113 contractors who had been awarded with 113 working areas during the last three or more years in Indonesia.

?We present these awards as part of efforts to apply the system of reward and punishment to the PSC contractors. We appreciate those who have shown good performances in their exploration activities. These include their achievements in finding new oil and gas reserves,? Rudi said.

He urged those contractors who have not yet fulfilled their exploration commitments to do so and to avoid punishments based on contracts already signed with them. The punishments may include partly returning the working areas, fine payments, and ultimately termination of contracts.
