SKK Migas, SOE Ministry sign MoU on waste management

Upstream authority SKK Migas signed on Monday a MoU with the Office of the State Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOE Ministry) on the management of waste from oil and gas activities.

The SOE Ministry said in a statement that the MoU was signed by SKK Migas Chairman Amien Sunaryadi and Deputy SOE Minister Aloysius Kiik Ro.

Under the MoU, the SOE Ministry will assigned five state-controlled and owned companies including state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, IDX-listed coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk, IDX-listed tin giant PT Timah Tbk and state-owned aluminum producer PT Inalum to form a consortium that would carry out study on the potential of the management of waste from oil and gas activities. Meanwhile, SKK Migas will assist to support the study by providing data and information required.

The statement said that the study, which covers identification of the waste potential, and site location for the waste processing facility, will be followed up with pre-feasibility study by the consortium of the SOEs.
