SKK Migas to launch AFE Manager system

In a bid to help accelerate the process of evaluation and approval of so-called authorization for expenditure (AFE) requested by oil and gas contractors operating in the country, upstream authority SKK Migas plans to introduce a web-based AFE Manager system in August of this year.

SKK Migas Chief Amien Sunaryadi said in a statement seen on Monday that aside from helping to accelerate the AFE process, the contractors can also monitor the progress of evaluation and approval via the AFE Manager system.

He expected that a speedier AFE process can contribute to the efforts to accelerate upstream oil and gas projects, which in turn could help increase the country?s oil and gas output.

Under the current system, the AFE process from proposal to evaluation and approval is entirely base on print documents.
