SKK Migas trying to bring in rigs from neighboring nations

Upstream authority SKK Migas is intensifying efforts to support its program of making 2013 the year of drilling, including trying to bring in drilling rigs from neighboring countries.
Even at present, a team is working to try to make operators relocate their rigs after completing their works in Brunei and Malaysia, according to Head of PR Division Elan Biantoro.
?We?re trying to ?kidnap? rigs from Malaysia and Brunei once their works are completed there. In addition, another team who is in Houston to attend an oil and gas seminar is also trying to approach companies to lease their rigs for Indonesian projects,? Elan told petromindo.com Wednesday.
Throughout the year, the agency is targeting drillings in 258 exploration wells, 1,178 development wells and 1,094 well workovers. Also, 2D seismic surveys will be carried out on a total of 18,751 km and 3D surveys on 22,298 km2.
?In addition to bringing in new rigs, we are also working on the availability of skilled manpower to support this program,? added Elan.
