SKK Migas updates exploration activities in 3 firms

Upstream authority SKK Migas said on Friday that three oil and gas companies have completed seismic surveys in four blocks, namely South Mandar and Malunda (PTTEP), Cendrawasis Bay II (Repsol Cendrawasis Bay), Babar Baru (Inpex), and are currently processing the resulting data.
Head of Exploration Division Arief Fanshuri told petromindo.com that for South Mandar and Malunda blocks, Inpex is awaiting the results of the evaluation with drilling program planned to commence in 2016.
South Mandar block is spread over an area of 3,882 square kilometers while Malunda covers 5,148 square kilometers. PTTEP is the operator of both blocks and holds 100 percent and 67 percent interest.
Arief added that Repsol Cendrawasih Bay has completed a 2D seismic acquisition with evaluation currently underway while drilling program is slated for 2014. The block covers a total area 5,072 sq km and is located offshore northwest Papua.
Inpex meanwhile completed a 3D survey in March with drilling program estimated at 2015. The block is located 100km southwest of the Saumlaki City in Tanimbar Islands and covers 8,170km2 with a water depth ranging from 200m to 2000m. It is located 60km northwest of the Abadi gas field in the Masela block, where Inpex is also the operator.
In addition to the three companies, Arief said that BP Indonesia is currently carrying out 2D and 3D seismic surveys on West Aru I and II with estimated drilling planned for 2015.
