In a bid to improve services for upstream oil and gas industry stakeholders, the interim oil and gas regulatory task force (SKMIGAS) opened on Wednesday its liaison office in Jambi.
The office is part of SKMIGAS representative office for Southern Sumatra which oversees South Sumatra, Jambi, Lampung, Bengkulu and Bangka Belitung. The representative office supervises 78 cooperation sharing contractors, which consist of 34 production contractors and 44 exploration contractors.
?Given the frequency of oil and gas activities in Jambi province, SKMIGAS decided to open a liaison office in Jambi with a hope it will address all problems related to operation and license quickly and efficiently,? SKMIGAS representative office head Setia Budi said.
The upstream oil and gas sector has contributed much to the Jambi economy in the last three years. Today 17 contractors are operating in the province, six of them in production phase.
