SMART to operate second biodiesel plant in first-half 2017

IDX-listed palm oil company PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources Technology Tbk (SMART) aims to start commercial operation of its second biodiesel plant in Marunda, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province, by June of this year at the latest, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.
The paper quoted SMART Director Agus Purnomo as saying that the plant, which has a capacity of 300,000 tons of biodiesel per year, was completed late last year, and the contractor is currently conducting production trial.
?Probably in the next 3-4 months, the one in Marunda will start operation, at the latest mid this year,? he said.
SMART started commercial operation of its first biodiesel plant, also with capacity of 300,000 tons per year, in Tarjun, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province, late last year. (*)
