State infrastructure financing company PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) has signed a regional loan agreement worth Rp99.86 billion (US$5.58 million) with the Tebo Regency Government in Jambi to support road upgrades and hospital development projects.

The financing agreement, signed on May 25, will fund improvements to two road sections and the expansion of Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) in Muara Tebo, according to SMI.

The company said the funding is aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and improving access to healthcare services in Tebo Regency.

SMI, which operates under Indonesia's Ministry of Finance, said infrastructure and healthcare investments play an important role in delivering direct economic and social benefits to local communities.

The road projects are expected to improve transportation links within the regency, while the hospital development is intended to enhance the quality and capacity of healthcare services available to residents.

The financing forms part of SMI's Regional Loan Program, which provides funding support to local governments for infrastructure development and public service projects.

Through the program, SMI has financed various regional infrastructure initiatives across Indonesia, including roads, water supply systems, hospitals, markets and other public facilities aimed at supporting economic growth and improving public welfare.

Tebo Regency is located in Jambi Province on Sumatra Island and is one of the province's key agricultural and plantation-producing regions.
