Former minister of mines and energy Soebroto and former state oil and gas firm Pertamina president AR Ramli have been questioned by the Attorney General's Office in relation to graft allegations involving former mines and energy minister Ginandjar Kartasasmita.

Attorney General Marzuki Darusman said on Friday that the questioning of Subroto and AR Ramli was aimed to clarify statement made by Ginandjar before state prosecutors.

But Marzuki refused to give details on the content of the questioning. He only said that the questioning of Subroto and AR Ramli was to meet his promise to summon all people who know the graft allegations.

Marzuki said his party would also summon former Pertamina president Faisal Abda'oe and Tabrani to uncover the graft allegations. But Marzuki did not mention who would become the suspects in the investigation.

Ginandjar has been investigated for his alleged roles in massive grafts in the divestment of gold and copper miner PT Freeport Indonesia's stake to local entities, the development of Pertamina's Balongan refinery plant and the Paiton power plant.

Ginanjar himself has been questioned by the Attorney General's Office, and Marzuki asked Ginandjar not to leave Indonesia to smoothen the questioning process.

Ginandjar, former coordinating minister for economy, finance and industry and currently deputy speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly, has shown his cooperation. With his own initiative, he went to the Attorney General's Office to clarify some issues related to him. And he heeds Marzuki's call not to travel abroad. (*)
