Soeharto Hill contains 120 million tons of coal

The so-called Soeharto Hill, a forest conservation area in Kutai Kertanegara regency, East Kalimantan, is believed to have abundant reserves of coal estimated at more than 120 million tons, according to Regent Syaukani HR as reported by the local Kaltim Post daily Thursday.

But the paper did not mention the source of Syaukani?s data.

Syaukani was speaking at a press conference held to launch a special one-day seminar to discuss the condition of the Soeharto Hill forest area, which had been badly affected by forest fire and farming activities.(*)
