Soma Daya to build power plant in Karimun

Power company PT Soma Daya Utama plans to build a 2?25 MW coal-fired power plant at the Karimun Free Trade Zone (FTZ) area in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province.
Antara quoted Soma Daya President Director Franky Yason as saying the company would invest US$100 millon in the project.
He said the power plant would serve the power needs of industries in the FTZ which currently rely on own diesel generator.
Franky said the company has completed the study for the project, finalized land acquisition, and obtained permit from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
He said that coal requirement will come from mines in Sumatra. He added the power plant is targeted to start operation in 2018.(*)
