State-owned mining firm PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) confirmed on Friday that its ferronickel product was aboard the general cargo vessel ?Sinar Kudus? that was hijacked by a group of pirates in Somali water, the company?s corporate secretary told Petromindo.com
Bimo Budi Satriyo said he was still collecting information about the quantity of the ferronickel confiscated by the pirates. ?Although the vessel was pirated, our ferronickel shipment is covered by insurance,? he said.
On March 16, shipping firm PT Samudera Indonesia announced that its vessel ?Sinar Kudus?, which was delivering ferronickel from Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi to Rotterdam port, was hijacked in Somali waters.
