Sourgum Sabu to build smelter in 2013

PT Sourgum Sabu Sejahtera, manganese company located in Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara said that it would start the construction of smelter facility for manganese ores in 2013. The planned smelter which is expected to commence operation in 2014 would have capacity to process between 150,000 and 170,000 tons of manganese ores per month.

"We target to produce 70,000 tons of manganese per year," Sourgum director, Frianto Danusugondho told Petromindo.com. The company currently markets most of its products to China. "Once we process the manganese ores, the export will be shifted to Europe and the United States," he said.
