South Aceh revokes IUP permits of three firms

The South Aceh Regency administration in Aceh Province has revoked the IUP mining business permit of three mining firms carrying out exploration activities in the region.
Regency administration spokesman Suhasmi was quoted by Antara as saying Wednesday that the concessions of the three gold mining firms lie within protected forest areas, and the three have yet to obtain principal permit from the provincial administration.
The three firms are PT Aneka Mining Nasional, PT Aspirasi Widya Chandra, and PT Arus Tirta Power, each of which has a 10,000-ha mining concession to mine for primary gold materials. (*)
