South Belut starts producing gas

The South Belut field in South Natuna Sea Block B PSC started gas production on April 26 at the volume of 40 mmscfd, an official of upstream authority SKK Migas said on Friday.

?The field has the potential to produce 120 mmscfd,? SKK Migas? spokesperson Handoyo Budi Santoso told Petromindo.com.

The block is operated and 40 percent owned by American firm ConocoPhilips Indonesia Inc. Ltd in a partnership with Japanese firm Inpex Natuna Ltd (35 percent) and American firm Chevron South Natuna B. Inc (25 percent).

The gas will be channeled to Singapore via the West Natuna Transportation System (WNT) gas pipeline.

The field will also produce 500 boepd of LPG with state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina as buyer.
