The South Kalimantan administration plans to develop a new integrated coal canal and terminal to cater to the demands coming from mining investors in several areas in the province including Banua Lima, Tabalong, Hulu Sungai Utara, Hulu Sungai Selatan and Tapin.
"The project will be developed by a consortium to be immediately formed," head of the provincial illegal mining curbing team Armain Janit told the local Banjarmasin Post.
He said that the new canal and terminal would provide an alternative for the coal mining companies and help reduce transportation cost.
There was no further details about the new project. (*)
