South Kalimantan Governor Sjachriel Darham said on Thursday that the province would soon have a ruling that would become a legal basis for the administration to curb illegal miners in the area.

The Kapos daily quoted Sjachriel as saying that his administration was committed to curb the rampant illegal mining activity in the province.

He said that a special team has been set up and they were currently designing new measures to curb illegal mining.

Illegal mining activity has been rampant in the province, and has become one factor discouraging investors to enter the mining sector in the area.(*)
