The South Kalimantan provincial administration would soon meet with the ministry of finance in Jakarta to obtain the remaining Rp 53 billion (US$1=Rp 9,500) in coal royalty, according to the administration's treasurer Iskandar.
Iskandar was quoted by the Palangkaraya-based Kapos daily as saying that the cash was expected to be transfer to the provincial coffer within 15 days from now.
Iskandar said that he had been informed by Jakarta that the coal royalty fund had been available at the ministry of finance.
He said that with the provincial administration had previously received around Rp 46 billion in coal royalty fund, making the new disbursement to allow the province to obtain a total of Rp 99 billion in royalty fund.
He said that this was slightly below the Rp 113.15 billion target set by the provincial administration for 2000.
Iskandar said that the lower realization figure might be due to the lower coal output. (*)
