South Mahakam production set for Q3 2012

Production of South Mahakam block which is being developed by France-based Total E&P Indonesie (TEPI) is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2012.

Head of TEPI's oil and gas project management division Iwan Ratman said the initial production would average 300-400mmscfd.

Iwan said the block was in the process of Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation (EPCI) work, with platforms being built in Batam by Nippon Steel Construction Indonesia (NISCONI).

The construction began at the end of 2010, and has now 16, 27% been completed at a cost of US$ 66.992 million.

The total investment for construction is worth $382 million, excluding exploration spending. (giok)
