South Sembakung gas field PoD approved

UK oil, gas firm Salamander Energy reported on Friday that Indonesian oil, gas authority has in August formally approved Plan of Development (PoD) for South Sembakung gas field in Simenggaris JOB, East Kalimantan.

?This will see the development of approximately 110 bcf of gas, with production to commence late in 2010 at 15 MMscfd for the first twelve months, before increasing to a peak of 25 MMscfd that is expected to be maintained for eleven years,? the company said in a report.

Gas from the field would be piped to methanol plant PT.Medco Methanol Bunyu 55-km away.

Salamander has 21 percent interest in Simenggaris block, which is jointly operated by Medco EP and Pertamina. (alex)
