South Sumatra-5 power plant needs 2mtpa of coal supply

The South Sumatra-5 coal-fired power plant in Musi Banyuasin will require 2 million tons of coal supply per year when its fully operates in 2015. The coal supplier has yet to be appointed.

?The construction progress has reached 20 percent (of the targeted works),? Hernadi Buhron, independent power producer division head at state-owned electricity firm PLN, told Petromindo.com Friday.

The 2x150 MW is being developed by independent power producer PT DSSP Power Sumsel. The first unit of the plant is scheduled to begin operation in May of 2015, while the second unit in November 2015.
