South Sumatra power generation unit receives coal offer

The steam-power generation unit PLTU Mulut Tambang in South Sumatra has received coal offer from 21 coal mining contractors in the province.
Ludi Bone, one of the contractor, said on Friday that 15 contractors had submitted the necessary data.
Ludi was quoted by the Bisnis Indonesia daily as saying that the date included the size of their coal reserves.
He said that nine of the 15 contracts had a combined coal reserves of 2.43 billion tons of coal.
Ludi said that 60 percent of the Indonesian coal reserves were located in South Sumatra province, but most of it was low calories coal which was less attractive compared to the high calories coal.
He said that power projects and cement industry were not so interested use low calories coal.(*)
