A mini oil refinery which is now under construction
in Musi Banyuasin (Muba) regency in South Sumatra is expected to begin operation by the end of this year, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday.
Muba's regent Alex Noerdin said in Palembang on Monday that the mini oil refinery which was now being built by PT Kilang Muba, a company owned by the local government, in cooperation with the Institute of Technology of Bandung (ITB), would have a capacity to process crude oil of about 500 barrels and 600 barrels per day.
The refinery plant, which will process crude oil from a number of marginal oil wells in the regency, will help meet the surge in the fuel demand in Muba and its surrounding areas. (*)
