SPC to start exploration drilling campaign in Mahakam

Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) through its unit SPC Mahakam Hilir PTE Ltd plans to drill two exploration wells in its Mahakam Hilir block, onshore East Kalimantan, in the third quarter of this year, the company?s official said on Wednesday.
SPC Mahakam Hilir?s GM Soekusen Soemarinda told Petromindo.Com that the company would start drilling in September, this year. ?At the present, we are conducting rig procurement tender,? he said.
The company is also now seeking to sort out the land overlapping problem of its area with East Kalimantan coal producer PT International Prima Coal (IPC), a coal unit of state-owned coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA), he said.
Mahakam Hillir block was awarded by government to SPC in November 2008. (godang)
