Special directorate proposed

The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has proposed for a new special directorate in charge of handling government?s non-tax revenue from the mining sector.

Director of Coal Management and Development at the ministry Adhi Wibobo said Thursday that setting up a special directorate is crucial due to the expected increasing role of the mining sector in contributing to the government?s non-tax revenue.

He said that the proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Administrative Reform, but so far has yet to be approved.
