PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), a unit of Indonesian state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Denmark-based shipping firm Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S (NORDEN) to provide pilotage and towage services across Indonesian ports, the company said.
The agreement, signed on Feb. 25, covers pilotage and tugboat services for all types and sizes of vessels commercially operated by NORDEN, including tankers, dry bulk carriers and special project vessels operating within Pelindo Group’s service areas in Indonesia.
SPJM President Director Arief Prabowo said the appointment reflects international confidence in the company’s maritime services.
“We will ensure that every stage of operations, from berthing to departure, is carried out professionally, safely and on schedule without delays,” Arief said on Tuesday.

Under the agreement, SPJM will provide tugboats in line with prevailing regulations and deploy certified marine pilots to ensure vessel and cargo safety as well as environmental protection.
Both parties also agreed to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward bribery and corruption and to comply with global standards on occupational health, safety and environmental protection.
SPJM, which operates in marine, equipment, port services, dredging and shipyard businesses, said the partnership supports its 2026 business expansion plan focused on service excellence and strengthening national maritime logistics.
NORDEN is a global shipping company specialising in dry cargo and product tanker transportation.
