Sriwijaya Bara to start coal production next year

South Sumatra coal miner PT Sriwijaya Bara Priharum, a coal unit of PT Foechs Prasetya Mulya, is planning to start coal production at the end of 2011, with an initial production of 80,000 per month.
The company?s director Peter Sanusi told Petromindo.Com last week that currently the company is conducting a drilling campaign. The coal mine has a calorific value of 5,300-5,900 kcal/kg (ADB) with sulphur content below 1 percent and ash around 6-7 percent.
The mine is located in Muara Enim regency. The company plans to build a coal port in Tanjung Api-Api with stockpile capacity of around 40,000 tons. The port is expected to be able to accomodate 300-feet barges.
