Sriwijaya Prima Energy to develop mine mouth power plant

PT Sriwijaya Prima Energy, a coal mining company in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra is planning to develop a mine mouth power plant with a capacity 2x300 MW.

Sri Andini, President Commissioner of the company told Petromindo.com recently that the company has already conducted pre-feasibility study for the project. ?Currently, we are preparing for the feasibility study,? she said, adding that for developing the power plant it would be conducted through PT Srikandi Energi Indonesia.

?And for the operation and maintenance we have a plan to cooperate with PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali,? she said.

For developing this mine mouth power plant, Sri reveled that it will need about US$ 900 million. ?We will set up a consortium with several investors from China,? she said.

PT Sriwijaya Prima Energy is currently conducting exploration activity at the concession to find the new JORC resources. In the previous JORC, the 18,000-hectare concession had around 1 billion tons resources with coal CV of 3,500 kcal/kg.
