Coal mining firm PT Sriwijaya Prima Energy plans to develop a mine mouth power plant at its concession area in Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province.

Sri Andini, President Director of Sriwijaya Prima told Petromindo.com recently that its 18,000-ha coal concession has coal reserves of around 600 million tons with coal calorific value of 4,000 Kcal/kg.

"We are still seeking the right partner to develop the mine mouth power plan," she said, adding that several companies have proposed to form joint venture.

Sri, however, didn't disclose the capacity of the planned power plant project.

Sri also serves as director at PT Bukit Pembangkit Innovative (BPI) which owns the 2x110 MW PLTU Banjarsari coal-fired power plant in Lahat.
