The administrations of Central Kalimantan, Kapuas Regency and PT Sinar Senusa Borneo (SSK) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build coal seaport, cement factory and coal-fired power plant (PLTU) with planned total investment of US$250 million in Kapuas regency, Kompas reported on Tuesday

President director of PT SSK Huwan Shi Jun said that the construction of seaport and PLTU with capacity of 130 MW would commence on February 2012 and the construction first phase would take about 1.5 year.

?The remaining project would be built in the second phase which would take about one year. We hope the whole construction process would be completed in 2015,? Shi Jun said as quoted by Kompas. The signing ceremony of the MoU was held in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.

Shi Jun said that the company would invest $60 million on seaport, $90 million on PLTU and another $100 million for cement factory.

The Kapuas Regency, said Shi Jun, has set aside 250 hectares of land for the project. (*)
