A leak at the South Sumatra-West Java (SSWJ) gas pipeline operated by state-controlled gas distribution firm PGN on Thursday has disrupted the distribution of 165 bbtud of gas to state-owned electricity firm PLN?s Muara Tawar gas-fired power plant in Bekasi, West Java.

Head of Fuel and Gas Division at PLN, Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com Friday that the potential financial loss suffered by the company is Rp 3-4 billion per day.

He said that because the gas could not be distributed to Muara Tawar, the plant has to switch to more expensive diesel fuel.
