SSY to increase Indonesian coal shipment

PT Simpson Spence & Young Indonesia, a unit of London-based independent shipbroker said on Tuesday it would ship 7-8 million tonnes of Indonesian coal to overseas market in 2008, up from 2007 target of 6 million tonnes.

Business Development Officer Febrianda Pasaribu told Petromindo.Com that the coal would be shipped to India, Thailand, China and Europe.

Pasaribu said up to the third quarter of this year, the company had shipped 5 MTPA of Indonesian coal.

The company?s main coal suppliers are East Kalimantan miners PT.Kideco Jaya Agung and PT.Berau Coal and a number of smaller miners. (denny)
