Stage-2 core drilling commenced in Gendang Timburu gold prospect

State nickel and gold miner PT. Aneka Tambang said on Friday that stage-2 core-drilling programme had been started at Gendang Timburu prospect in South-West Kalimantan on April.

During the second quarter of 2003, 3,792 meters were drilled. Although broad mineralized zones had been intersected, these had been of low grade. The drilling program is scheduled to be completed by august 2003.

Antam has 15 percent interest in PT. Pelsart Tambang Kencana, with options to increase interest to 51 percent. Pelsart Tambang Kencana is a subsidiary of Australian miner Pelsart Resources. (alex)
