Star Energy finds indication of hydrocarbon at South Sumatra's well

Upstream oil, gas regulator BPMIGAS said on Tuesday that Star Energy had resumed drilling at Cerah-1 exploration well in Sekayu PSC, onshore South Sumatra as it had found an indication of hydrocarbon there.
The agency's external division head Agus Suryono told Petromindo.Com that the firm planned to drill the well to a total depth of 4,529 feet. The firm is currently conducting a test, he said.
He did not give details.
The block was awarded to Star Energy in 2007. The well was abandoned due to floods since January.
In an earlier statement, Achmad Firaldi, Star Energy's senior communication coordinator, said that there is an indication of oil in the well. (godang)
