Star Energy to drill S. Sumatra exploration block Dec

Star Energy Limited, a company controlled by timber tycoon Prajogo Pangestu, will start drilling an exploration well in Sekayu Block onshore South Sumatra.

VP External Relations and Security Sanusi Star told reporters on Monday that the well, which will be spudded in December this year, will be drilled to the depth of 4,800 feet.

The block was awarded to Star Energy in 2007.

Sanusi also said that the company also planned to drill one exploration well in its Sebatik PSC in East Kalimantan next year. (godang)
