Indonesia energy firm Star Energy is planning to spud an exploration well in the Sebatik block onshore/offshore East Kalimantan in the third quarter of 2014.

?Star Energy will spud the Sirius-1 exploration well in Q3 of this year,? Spokesperson of upstream authority SKK Migas Zudaldi Rafdi told Petromindo.com on Monday.

Meanwhile, the company has yet to carry out exploration drilling in the Sekayu block onshore South Sumatra during 2014. ?So far there has been no suggestion of any technical program in the Sekayu block which is proposed by Star Energy to SKK Migas,? Zudaldi added.

Star Energy has 75 percent interest in the Sebatik PSC and a 100 percent in the Sekayu PSC. The firm acts operator on the two blocks.
