STAR.VISION prepares launch of Lampung-1 hyperspectral satellite

Space technology company STAR.VISION said it is preparing to launch the Lampung-1 satellite on Aug. 5 as part of its Twin Hyperspectral OSE Satellite mission from an offshore launch site off Shandong, China.
The company said in an Instagram post that the launch vehicle carrying the satellites has been transported to a launch vessel and is en route to the launch location.
The mission will carry two primary satellites, Lampung-1 and Samarkand 2028, as part of an international space cooperation initiative.
According to STAR.VISION, Lampung-1 was developed in collaboration with the Lampung provincial government to support marine economic development, environmental management and industrial collaboration in the province.
The company tagged the Lampung provincial government, Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and Uzbekistan's space agency Uzcosmos in the social media post, indicating their involvement in the mission.
The second satellite, Samarkand 2028, was developed in cooperation with Uzbekistan to support regional ecological monitoring and technology innovation.
STAR.VISION said both satellites are equipped with multi-band hyperspectral imaging technology integrated with onboard artificial intelligence, enabling data to be processed directly in orbit to provide faster and more accessible information for users.
