The startup of the Banyu Urip complete project in the Cepu block has been postponed to the early or middle of July 2015, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.
?The Banyu Urip (complete) project is now scheduled to start up production in early or middle of July, a slight delay from the earlier schedule of the middle of this June,? Unit Head for Acceleration of Banyu Urip Project at SKK Migas, Julius Wiratno told Petromindo.com.
He said that the completion of the construction of the project will be slightly delayed.
"Overall the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) works at Banyu Urip project have reached 97 percent completion. However, the EPC-1 for Central Processing Facility reached is a bit slower, now reaching about 95 percent completion, "he said.
According to Julius, now the production of Banyu Urip stands at approximately 82,000 bopd. "Later, after startup, the production from Train A can gradually increase up to 165,000 bopd, could even increase to more than 200,000 bpd. Hopefully everything is safe and smooth,? he said.
The development of the Banyu Urip project is divided into five work packages, namely:
1. EPC-1 for Central Processing Facilities
2. EPC-2 for the EPC Onshore Pipeline Facilities (72km)
3. EPC-3 for the EPC Offshore Pipeline Facilities (23km) and Mooring Tower
4. EPC-4 for FSO (Floating Storage and Offloading)
5. EPC-5 for Infrastructure Facilities
The Cepu block located in the border areas of Central Java and East Java is one of the prime oil and gas projects expected to come onstream this year. The block is jointly operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL) and PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC).
