State firms mulls Banten railway development to transport coal, cement

State railway firm KAI, state electricity firm PLN and state cement maker PT. Semen Gresik plan to set up a joint venture company to build railway line in Banten province to transport coal and cement, a KAI official said as quoted by medias.
Planning and Development Head Bambang Wibianto said the JV would build railway line from PLN’s Suralaya coal port to industrial city of Merak.
He said the preliminary study on the venture would be completed in two weeks and would be submitted to the Ministry of State Enterprises for approval. (*)
