State shipyard firms to provide tankers for Pertamina

State-owned shipyard companies signed an agreement on Friday with state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina to provide tankers for the latter company.
State Minister of State Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno said that the agreement forms part of synergy among state owned enterprises (SOEs).
The state shipyard companies signing the agreement include PT PAL, PT Industri Kapal Indonesia, PT Dock Perkapalan Surabaya, and PT Djakarta Lyod.
Pertamina Director of Investment Planning and Risk Management, Gigih Prakoso was quoted by Kontan as saying that the company has allocated US$200 million for acquiring new vessels and maintenance this year.
While did not disclosing the number of tankers the company needs, he said that Pertamina requires various types ranging from 7.500 dwt-capacity to 80,000 dwt.
Meanwhile, PAL Director Budiman Saleh said his company has capacity to develop tanker with capacity of up to 30,000 dwt.
