Norwegian firm Statoil plans to carryout a 3D seismic survey at the Aru Trough I block this month, according to a company official.

This was said by Statoil Government and Public Relations Affairs Manager, Wawan Koswara to petromindo.com. ?Statoil will carry out 3D seismic in Aru Trough I block located in eastern (part of) Indonesia this month,? he said.

Statoil owns 100 percent of the Aru Trough I block, the contract of which was awarded in March of last year.

Wawan confirmed an earlier report in this portal that 3D seismic survey will also be carried out at the West Papua IV block (offshore Papua), Aru block, offshore Maluku, this month by operator UK-based Ophir Energy Plc. Statoil is partner in the two blocks.

Ophir has a 49.9 percent operating interest in the West Papua IV Block and a 60 percent operating interest in the Aru Block covering a gross area of 5,701 km2.

?All related permits have been obtained, (survey) campaign has also been implemented by Ophir, accompanied by Statoil in three regencies including Kaimana (West Papua), Southeast Maluku and Aru Islands (Maluku),? Wawan said.
