StatoilHydro becomes Statoil

Norway firm StatoilHydro ASA announced Monday that it would change name to Statoil ASA starting November 2, 2009 from November 2nd, and simultaneously adopting its new visual identity.

All parts of the group will use the new identity with the exception of its service station network, which retains its existing Statoil logotype, the company said.

In Indonesia StatoiHydro is carrying out exploration activities as operator in partnership with Pertamina in the deep water areas of the Karama Block and is a partner with ConocoPhillips in the Kuma Block both in the Makassar Strait.

StatoiHydro is also keen to promote its Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Gas Value Chain competencies in Indonesia as an important part of its development in the region, the company said. (alex)
