Straits? Mt. Muro gold production down in 2007

Australian mining firm Straits Resources Limited reported on Thursday that its Mt Muro gold mine in Central Kalimantan produced 12,803 ounces of gold and 46,825 ounces of silver during the December quarter.

Total gold produced in 2007 reached 45,748 ounces, lower than previous year?s production of 47, 452 ounces.

The company also reported that Exploration activities at Mt Muro have continued with drilling at the Tumbang Lahung and the Rabu/Tasat areas. A review of the existing resources and reserves is currently underway and it is anticipated that these estimates will be available for release with the year end results, the company said.
