Straits Resources resumes mining activities at Mt Muro

ASX-listed Straits Resources Limited said it has re-commenced mining activities at its Mt Muro gold mining operations in Central Kalimantan.
Managing Director of Straits Resources, Andre Labuschagne said: ?Discussions with our stakeholders in the last few days have been productive with significant progress made.?
?The remaining issue relates to the placement of a boundary line between an area of local cultural significance and the eastern end of the Serujan Pit. Mining has recommenced in the western end of the pit however mining in eastern end of the pit is still suspended while discussions continue with all stakeholders for a solution. We are confident that with current support from all stakeholders, mining in the eastern end of the pit will recommence shortly,? he explained in a statement obtained on Wednesday.
Mining activities at Mt Muro has been recently suspended following a directive from the local provincial administration.
